The HUGHFLEX 45 junction is designed to offer a simple and reliable, single connection to a DN150 branch pipeline.

The branch connection will be made via a cast-in aperture at 45° to the main barrel. This aperture will be complete with plastic liner sleeve which will be cast into the junction during manufacture.

PLASTIC PIPE CONNECTIONS

1

To make a PLASTIC PIPE connection a special adaptor will be fitted for connecting to 160mm OD plastic pipes and fittings. This should be embossed "for 160mm OD PVC".

(NB. Ensure that you request a junction to connect to plastic drainage when ordering.)

2

Lubricate the end of the plastic pipe or fitting and carefully push home.

CLAY PIPE CONNECTIONS

1

For all clay connections a standard rubber adaptor will be supplied inserted into the plastic liner sleeve (clay adaptor).

2

To make a SUPERSLEVE connection simply lubricate the plain-end of the pipe or fitting and carefully push home.

3

To make a DENSLEEVE connection, a Connector (DC18) will also be required*. Providing that this has been requested at the time of ordering, the junction will be supplied with this Connector fitted.

4

Lubricate the plain-end of the Densleeve pipe or fitting and carefully push home into the DC18 socket.

* (Otherwise, a DC18 Connector can be obtained from Builders Merchants stocking Naylor clay drainage or from Hughes Concrete. Lubricate the spigot end of the Connector and carefully push home into the junction outlet.)

OTHER CONNECTIONS

Hughflex3to61a1a1

1

Joint a short length of DN150 Supersleeve pipe into the junction outlet.

2

Use the appropriate connector to joint to the pipe being connected. These are usually available, at nominal cost, from the Builders Merchant supplying the drainage pipe system.

OTHER CONNECTIONS

When other than DN150 Branch sizes, or other types of junction are required, Hughes will still fabricate traditional junctions with appropriate Supersleve, Densleeve or concrete arms.

Please contact the Hughes Sales Office for more information.

TESTING

Providing that the junction joint is made properly, as detailed above, it will pass an appropriate 'Sewers for Adoption' air or water test.
