Inspect spigot and socket to ensure that the joint surfaces are clean and dry. No grease is required as this seal is self-lubricating. Seals should be stored out of direct sunlight.
2
Place the rubber seal on the spigot with its plain side against the step on the concrete and with the flap of rubber facing towards the end of the spigot.
3
Stretch the seal around the spigot and equalise the tension in the ring by lifting and releasing at intervals around its length.
4
With the weight of the pipe supported, gently push the spigot end into the socket of the last pipe laid. To ensure a good joint is achieved the pipe must be pushed home squarely and evenly.
